Swastika Chaudhary is new face in Nepali guiding (Trekking) community. As Wilderness medicine skill is very essential while guiding in backcountry, she just finished her 20 hrs wilderness first aid course organized by Himalayan Medics supported by LaMa Walks.
As LaMa Walks believes is giving back to community, we are very proud and happy to be part of her adventure Journey. LaMa Walks sponsored Swastika’s tuition fee for this course.
The course was all about teaching how to manage an emergency situation in backcountry with limited available resources while traveling. This course has been designed in such a way that participants were challenged with mocked real life scenarios where they were had to do critical thinking and provide first aid treatment to the patients.
The 20 hrs WFA course also consist a topics like
High altitude sickness management
Patient assessment system
Musculoskeletal injury and management
Head and spine injury and management
Common expedition problems and many more
Which are very important and were taught by professional and experienced outdoor instructors.
We wish our very best to Swastika and all of her batch mates for adventurous time ahead.
See you guys on trails 🏔
